Morgan McSweeney might have a Blair-like ability to sense what the average voter wants from the Labour party, but when it came to timely candidate selection he couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery. I've hooked one already, although from an unlikely source. I thought it might come from rather more predictable quarters! Morgan may be a bastard but he's our bastard.

P.S. Out of that lot I've read exactly one article (anti - the Lab peer who had a go at Rosie Duffield and then said sorry) Ah, that was Michael Cashman; I see he's now had the Labour Party whip removed. When I saw the report at first, I thought he was being misogynistic. Rosie Duffield had quite reasonable grounds to be concerned about her personal safety and I would have hoped that Labour parliamentarians had not forgotten Jo Cox's death so soon.

Edit - just realised they were retweeting a poll, but I’ve gone back more than a day and can’t find it on the board? Edit x 2 - found it now!…

#bbclaurak: Let me remind people what's happened to Council Tax since the Tories have been in charge.. people are paying 51% more in cash terms.. & CT is going up by £10b in the next 5 years Mark Harper: Tories have lower CT LK: The overall CT bill is lower in Labour councils x.com/Haggis_UK/status/1802272198750556585Blimey! It's all over for the Tories when even Laura won't let them lie unchallenged any more. I've always been an admirer of Laura Kuennsberg. Yes but the big question batters: would you prefer her to Andrew Neil?

It's a decent sized sample of nearly 20,000. The VI figures match up with YouGov's most recent full MRP at Lab 43%, Con 25%. The LDs have one point less with Ipsos at 10%, and RefUK 2 more at 12% However, Ipsos has Labour converting the same lead into more seats than YouGov - its Lab 453, Con 115, LD 38, compared to YouGov's Lab 422, Con 140, LD 48. I'd normally believe YouGov's findings against other pollsters, but am inclined to think that the effects of their constituency prompt, and 'unwinding' adjustment may be a bit overdone.

Andrea Leadsom on brexit benefits. It's a lieathon there's at least 5 out and out lies , dissembling and factors thrown up as benefits which have nothing to do with brexit.Within two minutes one lie ev every 24 seconds. Leadsom says there are too many Brexit benefits to count. Which is a bit odd as she didn't actually identify any. youtu.be/QSJe6Yvwvt4?si=_mLBLgUeaYyAuqIa

Judging by the state Spaffer was in endorsing a Tory candidate yesterday, the Tories had to get him stoned in order to agree to support the campaign.

You'll notice my complaint was not so much political as organisational - that six months of pleading with the party to let us choose a candidate, any bloody candidate, knowing that an election was coming sometime this year. We are happy enough with the one we were given in the end, but the delay was avoidable. Therefore I have some reservations about his alleged organsational genius.

"Having a go" amounted to calling her "frit and lazy" which seems remarkably underwhelming cause to have the Labour whip removed. Duffield, who is not slow to insult and demean her opponents, could of course have joined the hustings remotely but it was probably too kuch of an effort for her. Her TERF supporters are now calling Cashman " homophobic" which just goes to show how deranged they are. Overall it does show that the Labour Party is not a reliable ally of the LBQT community especially as it has been cosying io to the Tufton Street "LGB Alliance".

So Farage gets his arse handed to him on GMB this morning by Ed Balls on tax under his tax cutting plans he would get far more than someone on Minimum wage or average earnings, Then Susannah Reid points out no less than 41 RefUK candidates are facebook friends of some Fascist politician from overseas, Nigel gets very tetchy under questioning about the absence of successful vetting and says their will be a major announcement about this at Lunchtime.
The big news is they claim to have outsourced this to Vetting .com for a large amount of money and they don't seem to have done anything! thus even more fruitcakes have been selected than usual, they are considering legal action and claim dark forces may be at work! Apparently what they purchased was access to the platform but failed to do the due diligence themselves. Still this is what you get from a limited company not a Political party, owned by a rightwing gobshite grifter. I guess he will still be claiming he should have equal billing with The Prime Minister and The Leader of the Opposition during the Election campaign.
I hope we see very little of him after July 4th.

It could be that the polls are overstating the Conservative VI.
Were the current sporting tournament to be rugger, many of their supporters would be too entranced by the sport to bother responding to pollsters. As it is, they have time on their hands, while more sensible people (in England and Scotland, at least) concentrate on more important matters - for now.

Since we seem to have gone a whole day without an argument about Jeremy Corbyn I thought I'd throw this one in
Won't be long before he's officially classed as a National Treasure
More than half of all voters believe that former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn should be allowed back into the party if he is re-elected as an MP in his constituency of Islington North.
Exclusive polling for The Independent by Techne shows that while 56 per cent of all voters say he should be readmitted, the number is much higher among Labour voters, with eight in 10 saying that Mr Corbyn should be allowed to rejoin the Labour Party.

Overall it does show that the Labour Party is not a reliable ally of the LBQT community especially as it has been cosying io to the Tufton Street "LGB Alliance". I think with regards to Duffield there is quite a bit of evidence to suggest she is "lazy"- the allegations of thousands of unanswered emails to constituents for example. While of course we have to be aware of dangers to MPs, it doesn't stop her bringing in security as required which is what other MPs tend to do. I'm not aware of pro trans activists involved in physical violence and sure they might give her a hard time but that's politics. It's noticeable that despite being in the same wing of the party as the current movers and shakers, she gets little support from them and does a lot of complaining about that lack of support from them. This suggests to me that they know the score. That said if you are in the same party as her and come up with those sorts of comments then it would be a surprise if the party didn't take action against those comments.

Another SNP leaflet last night, and today the postie delivered the freemails from SNP, Lab and Con - along with 2 credit card bills and a Farm Foods flier.
Farm Foods had some good offers.

Farm Foods had some good offers. Having the postie deliver leaflets instead is surely cheating, and doesn’t do much for one’s step count 👎

I don't think MRP modelling really works in some seats - such as where no Green stood in 2019 or where a strong Independent such as Corbyn is running.
