Bit surprised that I cannot see any comment on the Lebanese explosions. Maybe I have missed the relevant posts - or is the forum parochial? 
I always suspect cock up before I suspect conspiracy, and the recent explosions could just be an example of this. Could it be that some Mossad employee pressed the wrong button and the explosions intended to sow chaos amongst a fighting enemy were set off prematurely? Or is it a first strike in an escalation? Or maybe, as suggested on TV, the bombs had been discovered and it was a case of use them now before they became worthless. Anyone got any further information?
Fascinated that morality issues have been raised on the grounds that the explosions are indiscriminate? Would have thought that they were the exact opposite being far better targetted than Hezbolla rockets or for that matter Israeli bombs. Indeed there is a great irony in the terrorists being terrorized in this way.
In this left wing academic leaning forum, I cannot imagine that there is much sympathy for Israel, but even here posters must admire the level of initiative and daring that they show in their military planning. Can you imagine our MoD having the brain to do something similar? I cant. It was always said that the Admiralty equipped the navy to fight the last war.
Meantime I am checking my two way radios just in case.
