Clacton result, yuk sick. Thst man makes me ill. On the bright side, he will now have to do something. By his own admission. Which will be nothing. And he will be forgotten about. So relax

Really disappointed with the TV coverage. There's no sense of comparison between results and the exit poll. By this stage, we should be seeing the projections updated. We know Reform has missed three seats that were listed as wins, but there are other anomalies. They seem obsessed with the whizzy graphics, and have abandoned the analysis. As I said above the coverage is crap. No info about swing inindividual constituencies, or in the regions. No summaries Usual obsession with L Kuenssberg on here. But BBC have the well-informed smoothie himself P Mandleson.

Classic left behind territory. It's really tired these days, and that's being generous.

That's better. The Reform/Con balance seems to have shifted quite a few seats. Most of us here were doubtful of the Reform gains, and that proved to be the case, but Cons have gains a lot, SNP damage deeper than first thought.

Gosh Romsey & Southampton North has been held by Caroline Nokes, I blame my parents, although I do hope they voted LD as instructed. Anyway she is a rare 'good' Tory so I'm not too upset.

Ashworth has lost his seat in Leicester south That's the Muslim vote. Perhaps the Gaza effect hasn't been suppressed after all. It's only going to affect a relatively small number of seats but it does make me wonder how Labour are going to square keeping the very socially-conservative Muslim vote onside while also keeping the socially liberal side of the party - tolerance or even celebration of homosexuality for instance, women's rights and so on. I was struck by an Angela Rayner speech in her constituency to a Muslim audience appealing for their vote. The entire audience were men! EDIT: The polls don't seem to have picked the Muslim vote up. Do they have problems contacting that community?

So Rupert Lowe, ex Saints chairman, is now an MP. He was useless as Southampton FC reverse takeover chairman and led us into administration. Total c*** Good luck Great Yarmouth. You get what you vote for. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rupert_Lowe
