Neither the log in nor the register buttons work for me - any ideas?

Can you say the device, operating system and browser that you're using?
One possibility is that you're using some new combination, in which case revert to what worked. An easy try is to use another browser (most devices seem to have at least two installed these days) or I recommend Opera. Another easy try is the old classic "Switch it off and on again" made famous by the "IT Crowd". Sometimes things get screwed up and restarting clears the decks.
Other folks don't seem to get the problem, so it's likely to be with your setup. When I worked in IT we had a joke that a problem could be software, hardware or 'liveware'.

Disable add-blocker(s) when trying any first time logins. Cookies don't always take if ad-blockers are working well. Other than that, it might be browser set to reject cookies etc.

I know it's a cliche, but, try clearing your browsers cache. Something about this site is messing with it. I'm having to clear cache after every time I've been on here.
Other than that, what is your setup/browser?

well i deleted the relevant cookie yesterday but still couldn't get it but today worked okay - safari on a mac
